BOS INDICUS CATTLE CO. WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1959 AND IS REGISTERED AS AUSTRALIAN BRAHMAN BREEDERS ASSOCIATION (ABBA MEMBERSHIP NO. 15). IN 1953 THE CHEROKEE STUD WAS REGISTERED WITH ABBA AS MEMBERSHIP NO. 3.
Our vision is to provide exceptionally quiet, hardy, fertile and robust cattle that are adaptable across a range of conditions and suitable for the stud or herd breeder. We have a Biosecurity Plan across our properties with a JBAS score of 7 (Johne's Beef Assurance Score), enabling us to sell cattle throughout Australia and export through major ports.
GREY
Our grey herd focus has an emphasis on well bodied cattle which are good across the topeline and overall length with plenty of traditional character. Our grey herd is based on grey Cherokee sires and has developed over time using our own bloodlines. Our grey cattle have fantastic conformation, are consistent, fertile breeders with a very quiet temperament.
RED
Our red herd are well-rounded solid cattle with excellent breeding and mothering qualities. In 2013 and 2015 we expanded with a tremendous line of females from the Cherokee Stud as part of our partnership. These females complement our herd allowing us to broaden our gene pool whilst still focusing on classic lines.
